Social Sustainability


       Social sustainability and the success of its pulp and paper business go hand in hand. Therefore the company strongly reinforces family structure to build a concrete foundation towards a better community.

• Creating employment to local Thai farmers

       The company has formulated a unique way of building a sustainable community which is rooted from the concept of Paper from KHAN-NA. Over the years, Double A has been encouraging local Thai farmers to make use of the unused spaces in their farm lands by planting and cultivating Double A Paper-Tree. Today, over 1.5 million Thai contract farmers are cultivating the trees and enjoying the additional income from selling the mature trees back to Double A.

• Local Community Development

       Double A spearheads school funding programs to give assistance to the education of Thai children. Local schools have been chosen for a tree planting program wherein the selected schools were given Double A Paper-Tree saplings to plant on the vacant spaces around their school vicinity. The chosen schools will earn additional funds from selling back to Double A the mature trees to be used in buying educational materials and classroom improvements.

  • 100 millions d’arbres 6,7 millions de tonnes* de CO2 *Cette estimation se base sur un arbre pesant en moyenne 70 kg. Les 3 années précédant leur récolte, ces arbres à papier Double A auront donc réduit de 6 539 millions de tonnes le CO2 présent dans l’atmosphère.
